What Changes When a Raw Material’s Harvest Changes

Most fine fragrance houses quietly adjust formulas to compensate for natural raw-material variation, so a customer never notices that this year’s bottle smells subtly different from last year’s. We used to do the same thing.

Since 2023 we’ve stopped fully compensating — Fumée Douce in particular is allowed to drift slightly with each vanilla harvest, and the batch number on the bottle now means something. It’s a small thing, but it’s the difference between a fragrance and a product spec.
